Hiya lovinglebon! Yeah it's a funny story, and kinda long...get comfy my dear. Without knowing it was the fab five singing, I'd always loved the Bond movies and my best theme and movie was 'A View To A Kill', so without being aware, I was already a 'fan' of Duran Duran..but somehow I was a bit bland to 80s music and got confused between Duran Duran and A-Ha, both doing Bond themes, I thought with a name like Duran Duran, they must be Swedish or something...!? So anyway time goes on and in February 2004 I am flicking over TV channels and I come across 'The Brit Awards' and see none other than this Duran Duran band getting an award..so I stay tuned and start to tidy my room a bit watching them do 'Hungry Like The Wolf', I flicked across when 'Ordinary World' came on as I didn't know it, and then went back for 'Wild Boys', and it was hearing and actually seeing them perform this I clicked..so THIS is Duran Duran...pretty cool...good style, good music...hmmm.... ....that led the next morning for me going to get the new album 'Greatest' re-relased for their Brit win, so I had my first Duran Duran album...it took my a while to get through the songs and get used to their inimitable style, I skipped a few and mostly just played the original 5 tracks...and then I heard 'The Reflex' and fell for that pure 80s class! And THEN I happened to see Duran Duran's Greatest Hits on VH1 Classic week later, my first look at the videos, well I was stunned, it was great! And once again...'The Reflex' came on and it blew me away, the true image and sound of a real 80s Duran Duran song! And that was the song and video that tempted me to take a chance like all dreamers and buy a ticket for their re-union concert in Manchester in April..of course it was my first ever gig and I thought with a band so popular and legendary as this, I should give it a shot and make my first gig one to remember....so I wore jeans, a white jacket and tied a white tie around my head to go to the gig...and then my addiction began after April 17th when I actually saw them live.....wow! ...18 months later I have all the released DVDs and a few bootlegs, my first pair of leather trousers, a wristband, my fringe dyed blonde, all the albums from both DD and the side proects, 6 vinyl albums and 3 interview discs, 5 t-shirts, a fleece and football shirt, and a huge Duran Duran 2004 Tour Poster from e-bay on the wall... .....long live Duran Duran!!!! ;D

Wowser! Now that's a true Durannie! I hope the guys hear about their affect on you, and you a boy too! I know you as Flex God from another site - I'm Laura, in Scotland, fan of 21 years and the Reflex did it for me too, but back in its heydey - which makes me a lot older than you, but we won't go there! Welcome and enjoy feeding your aDDiction!

Ohh from DDF...yeah you ring a bel Laura..nice to meet you!
Yeah I don't think I will peak the addiction you females have, and it can be a struggle at times to see the guys as more than smutty sex objects, but when I have a good DVD on I see them for the class musicians they are so it's all good!
;D
