I love Duran Duran but find it highly upsetting that their music videos all exploit women. And when you think of all the young girls who loved them throughout the '80s and the videos featured scantily clad women performing for the cameras. Even now, their last video, "Falling Down", which obviously pokes fun at tortured starlets, the girls are all skinny and hardly dressed, basically being sexualized. I think the idea of sexualizing these troubled young women like Britney and Lindsay is wrong on many levels. These guys all have young daughters who look up to them. They really should know better. In all honesty, I always thought videos by Madonna, The Spice Girls, Destiny's Child and The Pussycat Dolls where men are being exploited and objectified is a direct response to Duran Duran's sexist, mysoginistic music videos. I happent to think we women are superior to men in every way, therefore we should be placed on pedestals high above men. The way I see it: no man is a god, but every woman's a goddess.
