Giving John his props

I found these comments about John on some bass guitar forums I visit sometimes. Thought I would share.

Best bass intro:

Rio by Duran Duran

Great bass AND drum intro. Though Duran were a "new wave" band in 82, a lot of hard rock bassists have commented on that bass line over the years; nice, supreme!

Duran's musicianship was excellent; Taylor in particular.

best bass lines:

Almost anything by Duran Duran's John Taylor

....Taylor's standout performances are Rio and Girls on Film.

...Duran Duran- Agreed on "Rio" also "Hungry Like the Wolf"-some tasteful pops during the choruses.


bassist w/ the best tone:

John Taylor- THE sound of the 80s, and still sounds great 20 years later.

Just goes to prove that he's more than a pretty face! I have always loved John but know that the primary reason I still do 20 years later is because of the music. He's so friggin talented and his solo work is some of the prettiest music I've ever heard.

like duranfanatic said, he's more than a pretty face to me, and he deserves all those props.
JT was one of the main reasons I got interested in bass to begin with.
