Still the one The guitar's future seems to be a healthy one. Even as electronic music and hip-hop shifts emphasis from players to DJs and samplers, the electric guitar is still the first choice of instrument when forming a band. Before John Taylor adopted the low-end tones of bass guitar, the Duran Duran star had six-string dreams. "I was drawn to guitar players, because they were so flash," said Taylor, who will perform Sunday with his band at the Murat Theatre. "They got a lot of spotlight. I didn't feel comfortable enough with as much spotlight as singers would get, but I kind of fancied myself as a guitar player." www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050722/ENTERTAINMENT04/507220496/1081/ENTERTAINMENT04

I'm glad he switched to bass -- to me, the bass is a sexier instrument.

I agree. The bass is much sexier. Very sexy. Especially when John is holding it.
