DEPECHE MODE will release their new album 'Playing The Angel' on October 17th, preceded by a single 'Precious' on October 3rd... see NEWS on the website for the full album tracklisting.
A-HA will release a new single, 'Celice', on October 4th and will follow that with their new studio album - currently untitled - on November 7th...
DEAD OR ALIVE fans have organised an online petition to try to persude Sony Japan to proceed with their planned compilation of Dead Or Alive's original 12" mixes. The release of the much anticipated album has been put on hold for unknown reasons... if you would like to sign the petition you can find the link in the NEWS section of the website.
THE HUMAN LEAGUE have released the tracklisting of their forthcoming 'Original Remixes' album which will be released on September 26th. The fourteen-track album will feature mixes taken from the band's original 12" singles, many of them on CD for the first time... see the NEWS section on the website for the full tracklisting. The band will also see their albums 'Crash' and 'Hysteria' reissued over the next couple of months in remastered and expanded form on the US Blue Plate label. 'Hysteria' will be released in September and 'Crash' follows in October... again, see the NEWS section on the website for more information.
BERLIN have released a new album, '4 Play', which features new versions of tracks the band have covered live over the years - including songs by DEPECHE MODE, PRINCE, DAVID BOWIE and PETER GABRIEL - alongside two new Berlin songs 'Scream' and 'Down And Dirty'...
CYNDI LAUPER's new album is scheduled for a November 8th release. The currently untitled record will feature acoustic reworkings of nine classic Cyndi Lauper tracks alongside three new songs...
MEATLOAF is about to start work on the highly anticipated 'Bat Out Of Hell III' album... regular cohort JIM STEINMAN will no longer be acting as producer for the record due to illness and instead the project will be produced by Michael Beinhorn. The album is expected to be ready for release late next year...
RICK ASTLEY will release a new album on October 17th. (I'm a nerd, I know) The thirteen- track album, entitled 'Portrait', features covers of some of Astley's favourite songs including tracks made famous by Matt Monro, Perry Como and The Carpenters and will be followed by a full UK tour in November. BILLY IDOL has added another UK show to his forthcoming 'Devil's Playground' UK dates in November. The new show will take place at Nottingham's Rock City on November 17th... see GIGS for all the dates.
MORRISSEY has announced that he will start work on his new album in September. The former SMITHS frontman will begin work on the album, the follow-up to him million-selling 2004 album 'You Are The Quarry' in Rome...
SMASH HITS MAGAZINE's output between 1978 and 1985 is to be celebrated at a new London club 'Smash Hits 7' devoted to the music covered during the magazine's first seven years and promising new wave, electro and pop music from the heavyweights of the scene alonside 'a handful of one-hit wonders that time forgot'... the first night of the club will be on Spetember 22nd and will take place at Nambucca on the Holloway Road between 7pm and midnight. Admission is free and a percentage of bar takings will go to Save The Children. GOD that sounds so fun!
BON JOVI's 'Wanted Dead Or Alive' has been covered by hotly tipped country singer Chris Cagle for his new album, tentatively titled 'Diary of a Redneck' the album is expected next summer.

ERASURE singer ANDY BELL will perform a selection of Erasure hits at a special BBC Radio 2 event in Blackpool on September 2nd. VINCE CLARKE is unable to appear so Andy Bell will be joined by remix and production duo Manhattan Clique with whom he is currently finishing work on his debut solo album 'Electric Blue'...
BLONDIE will release a new live album on August 29th and have another hits collection scheduled to coincide with their forthcoming UK dates in November and December.
BANANARAMA will support dance act Scissor Sisters at a one-off charity show in London tonight. The show will take place at The Forum in Kentish Town with proceeds being divided between The Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Joe Strummer Foundation for New Music. FUUUUUCK I wish I lived in London!!

STRAY CATS frontman BRIAN SETZER will release a Christmas album, 'Dig That Crazy Christmas', and DVD, 'Christmas Extravaganza' in October. The DVD was filmed at the Los Angeles Universal Amphitheatre on Setzer's Christmas tour last year and features christmas favourites, Stray Cats hits and Brian Setzer Orchestra numbers. The band have also lined up a number of shows to support the release including just-released US and European dates for November and December and a UK show at Liverpool's Carling Academy on December 16th.
