lovinglebon sent me the link to this board a few weeks back.
Just thought I'd drop in, say hi & introduce myself.
I'm currently going through pretty severe DD withdrawals at the moment. I didn't realize how bad it was until I watched Fashion Rocks last night. Seeing them onstage (but on tv) was good and I kept thinking to myself, "if I were there in person, these would be pretty good seats!"
I'm looking forward to getting a new album from them and another tour!
Marcia (lovinglebon) & I did a pretty massive Duran Duran trip this spring and it was a lot of fun & I'm looking forward to more such trips in the future!
A little about me:
I go by lebongirl pretty much everywhere online. A friend coined the nickname for me in 1995...so I guess that makes this year the 10th anniverary of lebongirl *gasp*
I'm Stephanie & I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I work for state government as a graphic designer.
I love to travel & sightsee. Most of the fun, for me, in going to lots of duran shows in a short period of time is getting to travel with friends, meet new people, make new friends...it's just like a big party and honestly, it's not so much about the band (although, I'd never turn down a chance to meet them!).
In addition to Duran travel, I just love traveling. I love traveling to various national parks & seeing the beauty of nature. I'm not much of a city girl but I DO love visiting. Vegas is one of my favorite places.
I lead a pretty mundane life. On weekends I mostly hang out with my boyfriend at either his house or mine. Sadly, I haven't even been to a movie theater in years. This is mostly due to the fact that we (bf & I) seem to jinx all movies we see. I think we've been to 4 movies together and for 3 of those, we never got to see the rest of the movie! Why not? Well, because each time, something went wrong at the movie theater: power outage, broken projectors & broken projector bulbs being the current culprits.
So we gave up!
I have ~30 pet snakes (nothing large & nothing dangerous) and I spend a lot of time with my mother - trying to educate people about these lovely but misunderstood animals. We do educational programs several times a year. She does more than I do, but then, she has more time to do so!
I share custody of my boyfriend's two mutt-doggies: Puddles & Misty. I'll post pics someday!
I love to cook but rarely do so...mostly because my job burns me out emotionally. I spend a lot of my off time feeling emotionally drained & trying to recover from that. Sad but true! Although, bf & I did manage to make some lovely green chile chicken enchiladas last weekend! (note to Marcia: you will need to plan a trip to NM sometime in order to load up on green chile!)
I love art...two of my faves being Andy Warhol & Salvador Dali. I love music & I seem to be mostly stuck in the 80s even though I DO like a good bit of today's music!
Well, that turned out to be more lengthy than I thought it would! So, hello & looking forward to at least lurking here!
