New Universal Republic band Your Vegas has just locked in a much touted opening spot on this spring’s hottest road workout, Duran Duran’s Red Carpet Massacre North American Tour. The band will be on the whole 22-city jaunt, kicking off in Vancouver, Canada on April 29. The spirited fivesome is heading back out on a run through mid-April with The Bravery, appearing April 5, in Ventura, CA, and then rolling through a two-week jaunt beginning April 9 with The Bravery and Fiction Plane, stepping off after their April 25 show in Detroit to hook up with superstars Duran Duran at the end of the month. This is embarassing, but I've never heard of them up until VERY recently.  I did follow the link and listen to some of their stuff...they sound halfway decent but nothing spectacular. |

I'd never heard of them either.
Kinda disappointed they are having an opening act because I'd heard there wasn't one for the Aussie dates and was hoping the US would get the same long shows. *sighs* oh well.

Well think of it this way, opening acts=one last bathroom break so the fans can watch the DD shows in their entirety without interruptions! Trust me, concert beer is far from kind!  |

well i hope it doesnt shorten our set list to have them. i'll have to check there stuff out before i go to vegas

LOL, Shin that's what I usually do too, during the opening acts is get my drink on, but I cant this time. My show is GA.

i usually enjoy the opening acts.. heck dd brought..clear static...which brought kill hannah and shiny toy guns..which brought several other club bands.

I hadnt heard of them either, but I followed the link when it was announced and I do like their sound. Must say that they are MUCH better than a few other opening acts I had to sit through on Astronaut tour (Dragonette...3 times).

The shows I went to had Clear Static as the opening act. Didn't much care for them, just kept thinking "OK, this is mediocre, but where's my DURAN DURAN?"
