I guess my question is this: is it good that it’s all about the music? Or, will there be something missed without liner notes? Without that special font that says Duran Duran on a nicely-designed cover? thanks, Jack.

ACTUALLY JACK, WE ARE ALL INCLINED TO AGREE WITH YOU REGARDING THE DEMISE OF PACKAGING, ALTHOUGH IT WOULD BE EASY TO ARGUE THAT WE ARE ALL BETTER OFF WITHOUT MORE PHYSICAL STUFF - WE ARE HELPING TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE BY NOT CUTTING DOWN ANYMORE TREES TO MANUFACTURE THE PRODUCT. AT THE SAME TIME, WE DO MISS THE FORMAT OF VINYL AND SUSPECT WE MAY EVEN FEEL THE SAME ABOUT CDS ONE DAY. IT WILL HOWEVER, REMAIN ESSENTIAL TO US THAT WE CONTINUE TO PRODUCE ARTWORK, PHOTOGRAPHY, LINER NOTES, CREDITS AND ALL NUMBER OF OTHER EPHEMERA WITH OUR SONGS. OBVIOUSLY MUCH OF IT WILL BE AVAILABLE VIA DOWNLOAD, BUT WE HOPE WE WILL BE ABLE TO CONTINUE TO PRODUCE SPECIAL EDITIONS OF PRODUCT WHERE BY WE CHOSE THE CARDBOARD, PLASTIC, SILK, RUBBER AND INK THAT GOES IN TO MAKING A BEAUTIFUL PACKAGE. I miss the vinyl... I love to collect it!! I know the sound is better on cd..but just the memories of vinyl! Going into a store and finding a 12" was fun!

I miss vinyl too! Pretty soon we may just be getting cd's in a plain wrapper!!! Yuck!

Well, if that ever happens, I will just download everything from iTunes or whatever. I miss the days of opening an album and getting inserts, full artwork, liner notes and lyrics. I know you get that with CDs somewhat, but it's not the same. It's so small for one thing, LOL.

its funny cause I think I am one of the only few if not the only one that HATES to download. I loved going to Tower Records and buying. Its just not the same. But I am afraid that the time is coming that downloading will be the only way.
