I have not heard peep about a new album -- has anyone else?
Maybe they'll beg Andy to come back? Warren?
Is it just me, or does the band seem to be in a kind of denial about how RCM didn't exactly "set the world on fire" with regard to sales and fan reaction...?

well... i don't think you are going to hear about a new album till after they are done touring. and i hope they aren't till at lest the begining of the year.. hoping for a second leg. but i did hear something about them working with a new producer... so i assume they are thinking about a new album.
as for andy and warren.. i PRAY that they don't ask or beg either of them to come back. because i know that warren is better off without being in this band. and i don't want andy back!! i personally like dom.

I'm also hoping for a second leg on the tour... However, I'm still patiently waiting for a 'return to their roots' album like RCM was going to be before Andy left. Much of today's music has an 80s feel, so why couldn't DD pull it off successfully? They could do very well with it. It's just my opinion here, but I think RCM was one of their weaker albums. Oh well....

Well, I'll always be an Andy fan...but I don't want to get us started on the "Who's the better guitarist?" thing. I know we all have our favorites in that regard and no one is really "right or wrong"...it's just a matter of opinion and taste.
I would love it if they all got back together and finished "Reportage" -- but that's just my personal taste.
I can live with Dom on the next album if they were to do a "roots" album with a great producer -- Brian Eno would be my dream producer to work with this band. Or even Nile Rodgers again...if he'd come back.

I have a feeling they will hang on to Dom as long as they can, because he plays the music and *i'm guessing here* doesn't get a whole lot of say so musically.
My personal opinion here, I feel it's a mistake for DD not to have a vocal, opinionated guitar player (whether it be Andy or Warren) to keep Nick's sound balanced.
I want Andy back in Duran Duran. The saying goes, "the third time is the charm" but I just don't know in this case. I think maybe Roger and Simon still have a soft spot for the man, however Nick....well forget it, i'm not even going to hit that subject, and then John sounds like a spurned lover when forced to talk about AT. I wish it would happen for the 5 of them again, but have my doubts.
If they got back together to finish "Reportage", I would want Andy included on this deal, and not have them go back in and re-do the whole thing.....just finish what was started. Hmmm, a Nile Rodgers production? I would love that! Now that's getting back to their roots!

Yeah, I get the impression Dom is just a "hired hand" and just does what the others tell him to do...but then again, what do I know? Is that true that Nick and Andy didn't get along or that Nick doesn't want Andy back?
Again, impressions...but not sure if that's reality.

Nile Rodgers return as the producer??? Now THAT would be a dream come true! As for the thing between Andy and Nick, I don't know the whole story, that's a Wen question.

Well I know that I am out of place here....
but I personally don't want Andy ever to come back. I loved the astronaut album, but it wasn't because he was on it. It could have been Dom and I would have still loved it. I have never been a Andy fan and never will be.
I don't want to get into the whole Andy thing though really. I just want a new album!!
